A foreigner’s stay in Ukraine – refers to the procedure governing their presence within the territory of Ukraine, determined by their status and the grounds for their stay.

There are seven clearly defined grounds for extending one's stay, and other circumstances making it impossible for a foreigner to leave Ukraine before their visa expires may also be taken into account.
The procedure for extending a foreigner's stay in Ukraine depends on the grounds for the extension, the inviting party, and the overall set of required documents.
If a foreigner has valid grounds, they may apply for a temporary or permanent residence permit in Ukraine, which allows them to stay in the country for more than 90 days without leaving.
With a Ukrainian temporary residence permit, a foreigner may stay in Ukraine for a period ranging from six months to two years, depending on the grounds for the permit.
With a Ukrainian permanent residence permit, a foreigner may stay in Ukraine indefinitely.
